Looking forward to 2022

Well, that was fast. The speed at which the second half of this year passed was aggressive. At the beginning of this calendar year we had just sold our house in the suburbs and all of our belongings were spread out between an apartment and two storage units. Our fingers were crossed that we had made the right call in deciding to find a place out in the country. But at that point, we had no idea exactly where, when, or how it would all happen.

Today, I’m writing this on New Year’s Eve from our property. I’m sipping hot coffee and I’ve got celebratory apple cider waiting for me downstairs. We just went through a winter storm that transformed everything into a storybook winter wonderland.

The advantage of living on a sloped property? Great sledding when it snows!

Now, it’s melting...as if to say, “okay, play time is over. Time to get ready for work.”

And you can bet your bottom dollar the work is coming.

But we’ll get there. First I want to say, on behalf of the DeLeon family, that we hope your holiday has been warm and safe. We hope you are looking forward to exciting new adventures and experiences in the calendar year. I know many don’t enjoy making “resolutions”, but I do enjoy setting goals and a break in the calendar is an excellent chance to clean slates and re-frame expectations and plan. We are looking forward to sharing ours with you here (and on YouTube and Instagram, of course).
